Welcome to Your Library Media Center! Where students read, think, create, share & grow!

My mission for the Sullivan Elementary School Library is to provide a program with opportunities for students and staff to become ethical, effective consumers and creators of ideas, information and technology. Our program aims to promote life-long learning by providing diverse resources and technology that support the curriculum, instructional development, information and technology literacy, reading enrichment and literature appreciation.

The Sullivan Library Program will:
-Encourage students to increase independent reading for enjoyment and personal growth.

-Prepare students to be ethical consumers and creators of information in all formats.

-Provide leadership and assistance to students and staff in developing information and technology literacy skills for life-long learning. That means, provide them with the skills to inquire, search, locate, select, evaluate, collaborate, create and share information.

-Provide a library media center with an atmosphere that is comfortable, purposeful, and conducive to learning.

-Provide a diverse library & media collection that encompasses new technologies and learning tools and that enables staff to meet the goals of instructional curriculum andstate standards.

A Note about GBAPS Library Media Centers:

Our goal in the LMC is to support inquiry by both students and staff. To assist with that, we offer print and non-print resources that give access to information from a variety of sources. We are committed to teaching students information literacy skills and digital citizenship.

GBAPS school libraries build a collection based on board-approved selection guidelines, that meet the wide-ranging needs and interests across the school community and provide choices that are relevant and appealing. Our collections reflect the diversity of ideas and authors, and the population of our school communities. We include books and other print and digital materials to engage students and support the curriculum

Browse our collection of books, magazines and other resources by using the Destiny and Classlink tabs. You can log in using your network username and password.

The Selection and Review of Library Media Center Materials and Resources can be found in GBAPS School Board Documents.
